Back when I was teaching quilting classes, one of the things that was important to me to share was that it was ok to change the colors. I had friends who only bought kits because they didn't want to change the colors. I had friends who, if they had a quilt pattern and the fabric line/colors used in the model quilt were no longer available, they wouldn't make the quilt. It's ok if those are the ...
Saturday Morning In The Kitchen
Yesterday morning I knew I had several things to get done in the kitchen and before I finished those "several" things, more were added to my list. I ground some wheat and made biscuits. I've mentioned this here before but my great grandmother lived just down the road (walking distance for a 6 year old) from my grandparents. I never remember a time that I went to "Maw's" house, and I went ...
Stitching Chair
I seriously need help. I seem to be the worst at picking out a comfy stitching chair. What do you all use and what do you recommend? Remember, I have Oscar and Cooper. They're usually sitting with me but they sit on the foot part of the recliner. They get up to go out, especially Cooper, at least hourly. I have to get up several times an hour to see what they're into. So, it has to be ...
January, 2025 Stitching Report
I'm going to try to make monthly reports -- keep myself accountable! My goal for each day's stitching is to make at least 400 stitches. There were only three days I didn't stitch at least 400 stitches but most days I stitched a few more than 400 stitches. I stitched 14,144 stitches in January so that was an average of 456 stitches per day. I'm happy with that! My 2025 stitching plans ...
Backyard Eggs
Not my backyard but my friend down the street - her backyard eggs. It was so nice to have an omelette from eggs that were about 24 hours old! I'm back to loving breakfast again. Here's everything set up assembly line style, which seems to work great for me and my absent mindedness. Not virtue signaling here (do I have to keep saying that? Probably!) Front row: whole wheat bread ...
Hope and Love Progress
Can you all help with colors for the house? When I started this project, I hoped to have it finished by the end of January. Slim chance Zero chance but I'm never right on the dates I think I'll finish a project. Here's where I stopped last night. Here's the pattern cover so you can see the house. It's pretty much a basic house. My flowers are a little more pink. I used all my ...
